Busy week ending with 5 shots

This was a really busy week for us, and it doesn't look like this week is going to be any better. On Monday's and Wednesday's I have volunteered to play volleyball in a competitive league for the bank, which is pretty scary considering that I had never touched a volleyball until a few Monday's ago. Tuesday I had a dental appointment, Thursday I had a million errands to run since the rest of my week was so busy, and Friday Jett had a Dr.s appointment. His appointment was at 9:00 so I got up and around early thinking that if I got there early, he could see the Dr. early, and I wouldn't be so late to work. Wrong. I left the house at 8:30 in Bobby's brand new car, and headed off to Jenks. While trying to figure out which entrance to take into the Dr.'s office, I merged into the right lane directly into the truck beside me (actually, the bumper of Bobby's car hit the truck's tire). YIKES! Jett was fine and there was no damage to the truck, but the rubber from his tire was all over the front of Bobby's car. He was a really nice, funny guy, and when I told him my husband was going to kill me for scuffing up his new car, he told me to just run to the power was and it should come right off. Sounded like a plan to me. We went on to the Dr. after this, and he got right in to the office. However, they couldn't find Jett's shot records, so we waited what seemed like forever for them to get everything posted and updated. Jett was really happy and in a great mood until he finally got tired and fell asleep. Jett weighed in at 17.03lbs and is now 27 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile of everything. We figured he would not be a large boy having us as parents. Ha! Here is is cheesing it up for the camera at the Dr.s office.
He actually slept right through the first shot, and then woke up crying on the next one. He got a total of 5 and was not a happy camper. Bobby's mom even called Bobby Friday afternoon because he was so fussy. She was freaked out because that is so unlike Jett, who is usually such a happy little guy. (By the way, I tried to power wash the car after the appointment, and FYI: power washing does not remove rubber. Bobby and I were able to buff it off after I got home. Now is looks perfect, Thank God!) Jett and Bobby have been playing together a lot now that he is getting bigger and more interactive. The other morning Bobby decided to entertain him with the lint roller. He snapped this funny picture of Jett with the lint roller stuck to the top of his head, and some other cute ones of him and Tiffany. Here are a few.

Jett continued to run a fever over the weekend from his shots on Friday, so on Saturday morning in an attemt to cheer him up, I broke out the Gerber Peach Puffs. My mom got them for him a few weeks ago and he loves them. They are so puffy that they pretty much just dissolve in his mouth. The hardest part of feeding them to him was keeping Tiffany out of them. She stayed as close as possible hoping to snatch one before he could get to it. Eventually, Jett decided it would probably be easier to drink the peach puffs.

To bring the weekend to a close, Bobby and I decided that it would be fun to get our swimsuits on and take Jett to the lake. At least it sounded like a good idea. We got all ready and packed a bag and off we went, only to drive 45 minutes and discover that, due to high water, the beaches were closed. Duh. Not one of our brightest moments. Jett looked super cute in his big boy lizard swim trunks though. What a little hunk! Hope everyone has a good week!

Jett likes to army crawl

The excitement of our weekend is that Jett has started to scoot around on the floor doing the "army crawl". Bobby and I would place things barely out of his reach and watch him go after it. As soon as he would get close, we would move it about another foot ahead of him so that he would keep going. He doesn't really seem to be interested in scooting/crawling unless he has some incentive. He is absolutely a riot to watch though. Here is a picture of him going after his hair brush. (If you look closely, you can see that Tiffany has already gotten a hold of it and gnawed part of it off).

Also this weekend was my nephew's 5th birthday party at Celebration Station. He is such a doll and loves babies. He wanted to hold Jett and feed him cake and ice cream. I know that I am a tad bit biased, but I really think that my niece and nephew are 2 of the most gorgeus children alive . Take a look....

One of the more exciting things at the party (for me) was getting my hands on my other sister's baby, Zaida Ann. (For those of you who are thinking, "What sister is she talking about, she is an only child?" Don't ask. It is way to confusing!)She is a month old now and SO beautiful. I kept telling Maegan that she really needed to let me have her, but she wasn't going for it. Look at this precious little thing...

Jett seemed to enjoy the party and I think it probably had to do something with all of the lights and noise. He has started to get a little clingy to me when there are a lot of other people around and tends to be a little bashful. I am hoping he will grow out of that. Bobby and I never meet strangers, so we won't know what to do with a shy child. He did really good today with everyone though and eventually crashed out in my arms. I think we partied with him a little too hard.

That was pretty much our whole weekend. We didn't really do much else except car shop. My husband has decided it is time to trade his in so we are trying to decide what we like. At first we both said that we would not even consider another German vehicle, but some how the one we ended up liking was German. Go figure. Once we got home today we washed and waxed both of our vehicles, and man were we tired! I told Bobby that I understand now why they charge so much at those detail shops. That is hard work. Jett was really good tonight and played in his walker/table. Notice his overalls are gone. At the party Bobby let him chew on piece of pizza crust and get got choked on it. Bobby started whacking his back and he projectile vomited all over him. No more pizza crust for a while.

Jett is almost 8 months old...

I can't believe that Tuesday Jett will be 8 months old. Today we were at Babies R Us and I noticed a baby that was, I swear, the smallest little thing I have ever seen. I asked the lady how old the baby was and she said 1 week. I commented on how tiny he was, and she responded that he was 6lbs 11oz...only 1 ounce less than Mr. Jett when we brought him home from the hospital. They grow entirely too fast. He is doing so many cute things and has developed quite a little personality. I usually go on and on about how perfect he is, so I thought I might share some of the other things that he is doing also. He can roll all over the house, scoot backwards, walk forward in his walker, hold himself upright on furniture or anything else that he can hang on to, he has 2 teeth, he can drink from a sippy cup, and the latest thing that he has been doing is waving bye-bye. It is absolutely the cutest thing, and everyone entertains themselves by telling him bye-bye so he will wave.
He is VERY vocal these days and loves to hear his voice...usually in restaurants or shopping malls. His favorite things to "say" are da-da-da or ba-ba-ba-. So far no ma-ma-ma-. We are still working on it.
This weekend was a busy one, as Bobby's mom was hospitalized on Thursday with Colitus, or an infection of the colon. She usually watches Jett for a few hours each day, so this week Jett and Daddy got to spend some quality time together since he took a few days off. I was terrified everyday to see what my house was going to look like when I got home, but it wasn't bad at all. Friday night and Saturday night we went to visit Harmonee (I am not sure how to really spell that, but it is "grandma" in Korean) at the hospital. Jett absolutely loves his Harmonee, and I think was confused by why she was in that bed. Here are some pictures from Saturday.

On Saturday Bobby went to Hallett to race his bike, so Jett and I stayed here and shopped. I was on a mission to find Wekinz and blue flip-flops for my nephew's birthday next week. Who would have thought that I could find every color BUT blue in little boys flip-flops????? Urgh....I am still looking. But, it gave me an excuse to visit Kathleen's Kids, so I was happy (speaking of cute baby things, I have recently discovered sandboxcouture.com, and tuttibella.com, both of which have adorable baby things). Jett and I had fun spending the day together, and Bobby had fun racing. I am not a big fan myself, but I do think he looks kind of sexy in leathers.....here he is.

Also on Saturday, Bobby decided that it was time to buy Jett some biter biscuits. He took him to his office on Friday and one of his co-workers with a baby had one in her purse and gave it to Jett and he loved it. We bought him some while we were grocery shopping and gave him one on the ride home. Afterwards we had top put him in the jaccuzzi to hose him off. Here are some funny pictures of my messy boy!

Sunday was a pretty relaxing day for us. Jett, Tiffany, and I jogged about 5 miles, came home and got Bobby, and walked 3 more. Then we defeated the whole purpose of the walk and ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Here is a picture of Jett laughing at his daddy, and a funny one I found of Tiffany posing in the mud outside my friend Shanna's house. I hope everyone has a good week!

Jett's First 4th of July!

I am SO aggravated! I had this entire post almost done and for some reason, my computer went down and didn't save any of it. Urgh!!!! Here is the short version....Last week was Jett's first 4th of July and we spent the day with my mom and grandma, had dinner, and went shopping for a Jack-in-the-box. Apparently that was my favorite toy when I was Jett's age and gramma really wants Jett to have one. However, they are nowhere to be found. If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know. Bobby said that he though they quit making them because they had small, dangerous parts. They have Mr. Potato Heads everywhere though so that doesn't make a lot of sense. Later that evening Bobby, Jett, and I went to the riverwalk to watch the fireworks. We had to wake Jett up because he fell asleep and he seemed to be much more interested in the cars and motorcycles passing by than the fireworks. Little did we know that the south end of the river puts on a much smaller, lower budget show than the north end. The lightening added a little something extra though. Here are some pictures of my handsome boy in his patriotic garb...

The last picture is of Jett after his bath the other night. He is such a busy little guy these days that dressing and diapering him is quite the challenge. I usually find whatever I can for him to chew on while I am dressing him, and this particular night it happened to be his lotion. Today we took a road trip to my cousin Ford's house in Claremore to see the new deck he has been building. Jett loves being outside so he enjoyed being there and walking around while we checked out everything. He is just so much fun and such a ham! He is hard to photograph lately because he is too busy to sit still and look at the camera. Here are the best we could get.

Jett has a tooth!!!!!

It only took 7 months, but Jett finally has his first tooth! On Sunday we were at Comp USA and Bobby and I were playing peek-a-boo around the isles with Jett (yes, everyone probably thinks we are nuts, but Jett loves it, so we do it) and as he laughed I noticed that his gums looked white so I told Bobby that I bet he would probably be getting a tooth soon. I stuck my finger in his mouth to feel around and sure enough, it was already poking through his gums. I could hardly believe it. I just assumed he hadn't started teething yet, as he is never fussy. Here is the best picture we could get of his new pearly white.

Also this weekend was my friend Amy's baby shower. Here is the kicker....her husband planned the whole thing and did a GREAT job! Who knew that a man could throw together a surprise baby shower in one week and pull it off?? Anyhow, we had a great time and it was so nice to see friends from high school that I haven't talked to in over 10 years. Here is a picture of a few of us gals. Amy is the one in the gray shirt and camo pants. Jett and I are waiting anxiously to love on baby Abby.

Here are some other random pictures of Jett from this weekend. I think I am losing my model though. He is getting SO busy and doesn't stay still for very long so many of the pictures are blurry. He is just the most precious, perfect thing though. Just during the past week or so he has started to throw little tantrums, and even that is cute. I am sure it won't be cure anymore when he is 3 and in the middle of a department store, but right now we just laugh at him. We have also started feeding him "real" food lately and he loves it! Banana's, mashed potatos, strawberries, etc...he loves it all. I have also been making him baby food from scratch....yes, you heard me right, from scratch. Bobby's mom has a garden, so she gives us veggies that are free from pesticides that I have been pureeing for Jett.
He loves them.

Tonight when I got home from work, it was gorgeous and sunny so Jett and I went for out nightly jog and just as we were nearing our house, it started pouring down rain.
By the time we got home we both looked like drowned rats. I had to take a picture of us because we looked so funny. I had 3 neighbors stop and ask if we needed ride, and I even had Tiffany with us and she was soaking wet too, so they must have felt really bad for us!

I also noticed that I hadn't posted any pictures of Jett's nursery on our blog, so here it is. I just love his room. So cute.

Well, better go...I have to ice brownies for work tomorrow. I promised one of the girls that I would make brownies if she would bring me cake balls. Also, congratulations to me.....I just found out today that I was promoted to Assistant Vice President! I was shocked, but really excited.
