Lovin' baths in Mommy's tub or Nenal's sink

Where in the world has time gone? Jett turned 10 months old on the 17th and it seems just like yesterday that we brought him home. Time flies! And fun is definately what we are having...especially at bath time. Jett has always loved splashing around in water, but my grandma (our Nenal), fills her kitchen sink up with water every Friday night and let's Jett splash water all over her kitchen, the walls, the floor, and us. He has the best time. Because he was having such a grand time playing around in the sink and splashing water everywhere, I decided to see what Jett would do if I put him in our big gigantic tub. The last time I tried it, he seemed a little scared. Not this time! He really enjoyed playing with all of his little yellow rubber duckies. You might notice the big goose-egg on his head. I have no idea how this happened, and Bobby swears that it was not there when he last saw him on Friday....it is a mystery:)

The past week has been pretty uneventful for us. Bobby and I both worked quite a few hours this week, and then evenings are spent playing with and entertaining Jett. He is getting so fun. As I was saying a few weeks ago, he is loving patty-cake, and my mother-in-law has taught him a Korean sing-song game that goes something like "chaka, chaka, chaka... kaji, kaji, kaji... something, something, something (I can't remember this part), dora, dora, dora". Of course, I am spelling none of those words right, only typing what it sounds like. Basically, it is like singing "clap your hands, clap your hands, clap your hands...point your finger, point your finger, point your finger...squeeze your hands, squeeze your hands, squeeze your hands...nod your head, nod your head, nod your head", and then doing the hand movements along with it. It is so cute, and Jett starts doing the motions the second Bobby or his mom start singing it. Also a new favorite, Daddy tossing him onto the bed. Jett LOVES this. I keep thinking he better enjoy it now before he gets all of his teeth in, causing him to bite his tongue when he hits the bed. Been there, done that.... Here is a picture of them playing , and a cute one of Jett sleeping because I think he looks SO much like his daddy when he sleeps.

Jett is not a fan of foreign surfaces. I tried to put him in the grass to play and he freaked completely out. I then attempted to sit him on the pebble type steps beside our drive way, and again, he freaked out. I was able to get a few pictures of him, but only because his feet weren't touching the rocks. It must be something about the rough rocks and prickly grass touhcing his skin that he doesn't like because when I took him around to the back deck, which is smooth wood, he was fine.

Saturday we did some shopping, and I have to post this picture to show off my way-to-cute new broom. It is pink zebra print. Isn't it so cute? And how sad am I that I am excited about a broom? Jett enjoyed scooting it around the floor and picking at the bristles.

Also Saturday, we watched our Razorbacks get beat (Urgh!). On a more positive note though, way to go OU. Boomer Sooner! We sat the game out Friday night though because we had more important things to do....like see baby Abby. Amy, Abby, and Amy's mom Glenda joined us at my grandma's Friday night so that we could love on that precious baby girl. She just keeps getting cuter and cuter. We can't wait to see them again....maybe later this week??? Of coures, my camera died Friday night taking pictures of Jett, so I will have to make up for it next time. I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Jett has a new friend!

Happy birthday to Abigayle Elizabeth Coatney! My best girlfriend from high school, Amy, had her new baby girl on Saturday morning. Her actual due date was not until Oct. 1st, but she was ready to come out and meet everyone a little early. Jett and I were way OK with that since we have bee anxiously awaiting her arrival since the day I found out Amy was pregnant. Now Jett will have a friend to play with (or maybe pester, although I hope not) when Amy and I go out for our weekly trip to the Cheesecake Factory. Abby is just the most beautiful baby girl and Jett and I are thrilled that she is here! I am so aggravated at myself though because for the past month I have been praying that Amy would have her on a weekend so that I could come immediately to the hospital when she went into labor, and then on Friday night my phone died and I didn't even know anything was happening until I took it off the charger and checked my messages Saturday afternoon as Bobby, Jett, and I were on our way to the river for a bike ride. Since we were already loaded up and ready to go, we went ahead and went on our ride, ran home and showered, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and headed to the hospital . Here are some pictures. Let me warn you, I took total advantage of having nothing to do this weekend other than hanging out with family and friends and lovin' on babies, so I did not put a drop of make up on all
weekend. It was great...but doesn't make for great pictures. Oh well. Was Abby the prettiest little girl in the nursery? Uh....yeah!

On Wednesday night my mom and I took Jett to Toys R Us and Gramma bought him a push toy. It is a little red truck that makes noises and lights up. When you turn the steering wheel it tells you which way it is turning, and when you open the hood it says open, and when you close the hood it says close. It is really cute. Jett likes it a lot, though he did run over himself at first when he was pulling up on it. He pulled it towards him and the whole thing ran him over. What a mess! The toy continued to be a favorite all weekend. His other new fave is doing "patty-cake patty-cake baker's man". He has always loved it when I do it, but now he does it too and it is SO cute.

Sunday we went to the hospital again, imagine that. We may wear out our welcome really fast as much as we love spending time with Abby, Amy, and her family. My mom went with us on Sunday, and Jett was not too sure about mommy and gramma paying attention to someone else besides him. He was a little fussier than usual, but I haven't figured out yet whether it is because he has been dealing with a nasty cold, or if it is because I put some cute new sandals on him and they were pinching his feet. I think it might have been the shoes because as soon as I removed them from his feet, he seemed to have instant relief. Poor guy. The things we do to look cute..Here are some pictures I took of Jett hanging out with daddy while he was working on that old truck of his. He enjoyed playing around with the wrenches and tools.

Have a great week. I am hoping to get started once again on Jett's bathroom this week. I have been working on it on and off as I get time for I don't know how long.
Since we were right by Utica this weekend, I squeezed in a trip to the Pottery Barn Kids to pick up a few things, and I also got my order in on Friday for the wall art I bought him. It is going to be so cute when I finally get it done. I will post pic's of it when it is finished, and hopefully Jett will still be living at home by then.... :)

Lots of pictures this week....

Although Jett is getting harder to photograph, he is so cute that I have to follow him around with the camera just in case he decides to slow down long enough to flash me a smile. And boy is it worth it when he does! We did have an interesting experience this weekend while attempting to have his 9 month pictures made. The poor photographer was getting exhausted trying to come up with different ways keep him still long enough to get a good shot. She commented on how fast he is. Before she could walk back to her camera, he would be flipped completely around and flying past her on all fours. Poor lady. We did get some cute pictures though, I will have to try to post them later. I went and bought a super cute outfit and matching hat for him to wear, and then in the poses that I ended up ordering, he wasn't wearing anything. His little skin is so sweet though. I love it! I ended up taking several pictures of Jett this week because he has been in such a great mood. The next several pictures are ones that I took this weekend of Jett in Bobby's old truck. When I say old, I mean really old. I think my grandpa used to have one back in the 50's. The truck doesn't kill me, but Bobby loves it so I guess that is all that matters, although, he never drives is because he says it gets horrible gas mileage. As you can see, Jett loves it too. I wish I would have had a pair of cowboy boots and hat. How cute would that have been?!?

While I was trying to unload the dishwasher this weekend, Jett kept trying to climb up on the door while it was down. I decided to attempt to distract him by giving him his first ever popsicle. He loved it as you can see from the pictures. I think it must have probably felt good on his gums too, as he is getting his first upper tooth. Then, of course, Tiffany decided to snatch it away from him, so that was the end of that. (Note to everyone: Please do not report us to DHS. I promise that Tiffany has never hurt him with those evil looking chompers.)

Also this weekend was Grandparents Day. We made a trip out to Owasso visit my mom at her house and check out her newly remodeled bedroom, which by the way looks fabulous, and she did it all herself. Wood floors and all. I obviously got none of her skills and motivation..maybe Jett will. Next we headed out to Nenal's to spend some time with her. Jett even "signed" their Grandparents Day cards all by himself. I dressed him in his "If Mommy says no, ask Grandma" outfit, and packed his "Grandma Lets Me" bib. Between the three of us, Jett does not lack for attention. I thought these pictures of all of us together were really cute. (Also, just in case you didn't notice, my mom so kindly pointed out that in the picture of Jett and I playing on the floor, my chest looks unusually larger than normal. So I, of course, am always going to try to be photographed in that exact same position). :)

Say a prayer for Bobby and I. Jett has decided that he really does not need to sleep anymore. He has gotten to where he wants to play until around 11:00pm, and then wake up screaming at 2:00am until I rock him back to sleep, only to wake up around 8:00am again, and maybe take only a 45 minute nap during the day. Oddly enough though, he is always in a great mood. If you run into Bobby or I and we look like zombies, this would be why. Enjoy these last few pic's of our perfect little angel. Have a great week!

The week Jett learned to throw a temper tantrum

It has finally happened.....Jett has learned to throw a temper tantrum. I'm talking about a full blown, throw yourself down, kick your legs, arch your back and whack your head against the floor temper tantrum. Whew! Who knew that a 9 month old could overpower a grown woman? I don't have a clue where Jett picked this up from, but let me tell you, if you make him angry, watch out! This has happened while attempting to change his diaper, trying to get him dressed, trying to buckle him in his carseat, or when taking something away from him. My sweet, adorable, angelic little guy has got quite the temper. He must have gotten that from his daddy, I just cry when I get angry:) Here are some pictures of him showing off is normal, sweet, happy self.

This has been a long few days for us. I ended up in the minor emergency Friday morning hooked up to IV's due to a bacterial gastrointestinal infection that kicked my rear. Thank goodness from Gramma who came to the rescue immediately when I called her on Friday morning and stayed until about 11:00pm Friday night. What do people do who don't have mom's nearby (or great bosses...my boss offered to come take me. How great is that!?)??? Saturday was a little better, but trying to get over an illness while chasing a 9 month old around is tough. He is SO busy and into everything. Here are some pictures of him checking out things around the house on Saturday.

My mom bought Jett a really cute sleeper with really bright animals on it for Easter and I loved it so much that I went to Kathleen's Kid's today after my Dr.'s appointment and picked him up a short sleeved one. Here he is looking as cute as ever. Jett really liked playing around on the chair outside on our deck. We weren't out there long though because I am really paranoid about him falling through the posts since it is on our second story. I suspect he will probably be 12 before I allow him access to the upstairs decks without adult supervision. Ha!

Finally, tonight as I was getting him changed and ready for bed, he decided to throw one of his little fits as I was trying to put a new diaper on him (probably because my hubby accidentally bought a size 2 and he can barely breathe with it on) so I let him play around in his bedroom floor naked. His favorite thing is to pull up on his diaper genie, or really anything else for that matter. I love his cute little cottage cheese butt cheeks!

Oh yeah...Jett has learned to dance! We crank the music up just to watch him do it.
So cute! Have a great week.
