So much to be Thankful for.....

I can't believe that last Thursday was Jett's second Thanksgiving. He is definately what I am most thankful for in my life! It is so hard for me to imagine my life without him in it. I was thinking the other day about how lucky he is to have SO many people that love him and think the whole world revolves around him like they do. Can't hurt his ego later in life either! I am getting a little concerned about his fear of unfamiliar people. He has the whole "stranger danger" thing down pat. For example, I changed Pediatrician's (good decision, love the new one!)and he screamed his head off when the Dr. walked into the office and said "Hi Jett". Jett, who was playing with the wall puzzle and having a great time, dropped to his knees and crawled as fast as he could to me and had a death grip on my shirt while screaming loud enough for everyone in the office to hear. Lovely! It didn't take him long to calm down enough to eventually let the Dr. check him out. He is a whole 21 lbs and 28 inches long. That ranks him in the 10th-20th percentile in everything.
He had no hope of being a large boy with me as a mom and Bobby as a dad. Here is a picture of him at the Dr.'s office (before the Dr. arrived).

Monday it was nice outside, so Jett and I played for a long time in his new wagon. He LOVES it! I think he likes that he can see me pulling him, rather than in the stroller where I am behind him and he can't see me.

Thursday we had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Nenals, and Jett had a great time playing with his new remote control car that our friend Raquel got him for his birthday. After dinner, Jett started acting funny, and wasn't playing and laughing like he normally does, and within a few hours was running a fever. I am not sure what was causing this, but it lasted until Sunday, and he has started having some rattling in his chest when breathing, so I am praying that he doesn't get sick! The Dr. was just praising us for going a whole year with no antibiotics or Dr. visits other than routine check-ups. Here are some pictures of my little turkey in his Gobble Gobble shirt. I also included one of Jett learning to blow kisses....too cute!

This week Amy and I are planning on taking Jett and Abby to visit Santa Clause. I can't wait, but I am hoping that the stranger with the hairy face doesn't freak Jett out! I hope everyone has a great week and I am including a few pictures of Jett in his OU outfit. Go Sooners!!! And Hooray to our Razorbacks who won on Friday night!!!!

Our little Prince Jett turns 1!

I will keep this post short this time, as I had several pictures to share. We had a great time at Jett's birthday party with lots of great friends, food, and family. Jett scored big time with all of his great gifts, and was so exhausted that he has done a lot of sleeping between the big day and now! I think we wore the little guy out with all of the excitement. It makes me so sad to think that he is a year old now, but I will have to say that he just gets cuter and more fun every day. We love him so much! Also on his birthday, Bobby's mom brought Jett and I Korean outfits to put on and take pictures in, as that is a Korean tradition for the first birthday. The little outfit Jett has on is called a Hanbok, and it was gorgeous. I think we are going to have Bobby's uncle send us one from Korea (the one Jett is wearing in the pictures is borrowed) so that we can go have pictures made in them. Below is a picture of Bobby on his first birthday. Does he not look exactly like Jett? It is crazy!

Here are some random shots of Jett from the week before his big day. Enjoy and have a great week.

Less than 1 week away from the BIG day!

As of today, we are officially less than one week away from Jett's first birthday. It doesn't seem possible that a year ago we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of our perfect baby boy. Today actually marked the anniversary of my original due date, Jett was just not quite ready to come out and meet everyone yet. He has been so much fun and it is hard to imagine life without him. He is still a little guy. This week I had 2 people ask me if he was around 9 months old. I also had one lady say to me "I bet a lot of people mistake him for a girl because he is so pretty." He does have some killer eyelashes. What he doesn't have in height, he definately makes up for in personality. This weekend I was rinsing out his breakfast dish and I heard a splashing behind me. I turned around to find Jett splashing around in Tiffany's water bowl. There was water everywhere, but I had to grab my camera because it was so funny.

Saturday we just hung around the house and didn't do anything too exciting. Bobby worked in the yard and Jett and I played ball and played in the leaves. Jett decided to touch some flowers that were in a concrete planter out by the street and lost his balance and slipped, knocking his cheek into the side of it. Now he has a big bruise on his cheek...poor guy. I won't have to worry about it being there for his 1 year pictures though because I obviously am an ammatuer at this whole having a baby around the holidays thing. I called about having his cake made and the cake lady was booked solid for the rest of the year due to the holidays, and the same thing with his 1 year pictures. The photographer was booked until after Christmas. I have definately learned what not to do next year! Here are some random shots from Saturday.

Jett has also learned piggy back in Korean. It sounds something like "Abuh-bah". He will climb on Bobby's back and say "Abuh-bah" and Bobby will get up and run around the room with Jett on his back. When he stops, Jett will immediatly say "Abuh-bah", and they do this again and again and again. It is so cute. Jett still loves to play with Tiffany. I love getting cute shots of them together. I think Tiffany will like him a little more when he is able to chase her around and play ball with her. He is getting really close to being at that point now. He is walking much better each day that passes. He takes about 5 or 6 steps at a time now, and can stand up on his own without holding on to anything. Tonight I took some pictures of him playing in his daddy's ties. What a ham!

And one funny story to end our weekend recap. Bobby's mom knits really well, and I have had her make me several pairs of slippers. I think they are really cute and cozy to wear around the house. I mentioned to Bobby a few weeks ago that I wanted her to make me a few more pairs, and maybe Jett a few too. Then on Tuesday, Bobby got home with Jett and I was in the back of the house. He came back to the bedroom and I asked him where Jett was and he told me that he was asleep in his car seat, and then proceeded to tell me that his mom yelled at him because he didn't put socks on Jett that morning, and it was cold so she had to make him some. I told him that was OK because I had been wanting her to make him some anyways. Bobby said "No, really, come look at them." This is what I found when I got into the kitchen.

I started laughing so hard my stomach hurt. They were the cutest little lavender slippers, but I am thinking that they may need to be handed down to baby Abby. I went the next night and bought green, blue, black and white yarn so that she could make him some more "manly" socks. Have a great week and I hope to see you all at his party on Saturday. Oh yeah! I almost forgot one of the biggest highlights of the weekend....my friend Amy and I are now the proud owners of 2 Bon Jovi tickets!!! The concert isn't until April, but tickets went on sale Saturday and we are SO excited!!!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider walked across the room.......

OK, so maybe not technically walked, but Jett has started taking 2 and three steps at one time! I think that after about the third step he realizes that he isn't holding on to anything, panics, and falls down. He doesn't do it all that often, but when he does it is SO exciting! Wednesday was Jett's very first Halloween. It was a little sad because I kept thinking that this was Jett's last - first holiday )if that makes sense). No more firsts after this, well, except for his birthday. We had a great Halloween but Jett was not a huge fan of his costume. He doesn't like anything to restrict him and it was pretty bulky. It lasted long enough for a few pictures and that was it. We enjoyed getting to spend Jett's last-first holiday with Abby and Amy. This was Abby's first holiday since she was born, and she was an adorable little pink kitten. Too cute! Here are some pictures I got at my mom's house. (Do these ladies look like proud Grandma's or what?!)

Saturday morning I ran the Jenks Half Marathon. I thought I might possibly die afterwards. That was a tough one! I think I am going to have to be done for a while. My knees are killing me, and my poor toes are all blistered. I was two minutes over my goal time, but I still did pretty good. I ran under a 10 minute mile for 13 miles. I guess I should just be thankful I made it:) Saturday afternoon Jett and I played ball for hours since that is the only thing he cares about doing these days. Here are some cute pictures of him out on the deck.

That is about all for this week. I have got so much to do in the next few days/weeks that I don't know if I am going to be able to accomplish it all. I have to send out Jett's invitations, schedule his pictures, and decide what we are going to get him for his birthday. What do you possibly get a 1 year old that has everything???? I have pretty much given up on doing his bathroom until after the party. Bobby got preoccupied with building a concrete retaining wall in our front yard (what a mess....it probably will still be that way for a long time) so he hasn't had the time to help me. Oh well....on the other hand, I did get some of my Christmas decorations out today. I love this time of year!
