Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I was so excited for Christmas this year because I knew we would have so much fun with Jett! I was a little concerned that if I talked to much about Santa, he might get freaked out a little after the traumatic experience we had with visiting him a few weeks back. We did, however, make progress one day at the mall when Santa walked up to say "hello" and Jett gave him a high five. Yeah! Here is Jett the day before Christmas Eve. He spotted a brownie on the counter and wanted one, but since Tiffany always steals his food, I took him upstairs to eat it in Bobby's office.

I am all about traditions, so on Christmas Eve Jett and I had to bake cookies for Santa.
Jett watching the cookies bake in the oven....YUM!

Taking them to the fireplace for Santa (and even carrots for the reindeer)

Jett decided that he wants to munch on a carrot too!

While the cookies were baking, Jett and Tiffany played a game of chase around the island in my kitchen. Jett slipped and bumped his head, so we broke out the Boo Bunny. If you have small children and don't have a Boo Bunny, you should go get one! They are so cute.

And now, of course, Christmas morning!! We got the whole thing on video, but I am still not sure how to upload it, so here are the pictures from our house Christmas morning.
Jett got a super cute vintage Firetruck from Santa and a basketball hoop, although his favorite thing seemed to be the musical card my grandma got him that played Jingle Bells....

After presents at home, we headed to my mom's house for more gifts and lots of great food. Jett had so many great toys, clothes, and books from Gramma (was there ever any doubt?!?), but the biggest hit of all was the Thomas the Train sippy cup in his stocking. He loves that thing!

The best family picture we could get.

Gramma made sure Tiffany got treats in her stocking too!

After mom's, we headed to Bobby's parents for yet another Christmas. Bobby's parents are great and we always enjoy spending time with them too. It is always fun to watch Jett and Harmonee (that is Korean for grandma, and I have no idea how to spell it correctly) interact because he loves playing with her and she speaks only Korean to him. He understands her even though I don't, and it is neat to watch. Kind of scary that one of these days Bobby and Jett will be carrying on a conversation and I will have no idea what they are saying!

Sunday my aunt, uncle, and cousin Kevin came up from Plano, so we had a 4th Christmas with them. Here are some fun pictures from our last Christmas gathering.

Christmas is so much fun now that we have Jett, and here are two funny stories that show why we are so completely obsessed and in love with this kid. He is absolutely hilarious. Mom, Jett and I went shopping on Friday (yes, we might be nuts).I have mentioned before that we don't use a stroller because Jett likes to be carried (like I said...we are nuts). My mom can't carry him long because her back starts hurting, and since I am used to carrying him everywhere, I said "Jett, you are too heavy for Gramma to carry, so how about Mommy holds you?" I picked him up and he just looked at me for a second and said "How about Gramma holds you?!?" We laughed so hard. Later on that afternoon, Bobby met up with us at the mall and we all went together to Utica Square. As we were leaving, this was the conversation:
Bobby: Jett, what do you want for dinner?
Jett: Maggie Moos!
Bobby: You can't eat Maggie Moos for dinner. What do you want to eat?
Jett: Ice Cream!
Bobby: Jett, you can't eat ice cream for dinner. Do you want chicken, rice, etc...?
Jett: How bout a cookie?
So funny!! See why we love him so much! He is so stinkin' cute, and I don't know what we did for entertainment before we had him! I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

Twas the week before Christmas....

I dont have many pictures and/or stories this week because we have been so busy that I haven't had many picture taking opportunities. This past Friday night Jett got to spend the evening with Gramma because Bobby and I attended a Christmas party. I tried to get a few pictures before the party, but were running late so this was the best we could do.

Saturday night we hosted a Christmas party at our home, so as I was running around like a mad woman Saturday morning cleaning and baking, I let Jett do a little coloring in his high chair. Our friends Shanna and Rafy gave Jett this coloring book and crayons, and he loved it!

Not sure exactly what he is doing in this picture???

He is getting good at "CHEESE".

Saturday night after most of our guests left, a few of us were gathered around the island in my kitchen visiting and Jett decided it was story time. Now, let me just remind everyone that Jett is a HUGE mommy's boy and freaks out if I walk out of the room (unless of course gramma, harmonee or daddy are with him). At the party, he was sociable, but wouldn't let anyone hold him. One of Bobby's good friends grabbed one of the books and sat down on the kitchen floor to read it to him. Jett, of course, was sitting about 5 feet away from him the whole time. By about book number 4, this is where Jett was.

Amazing! I had to get a picture because this seriously never happens. If anyone ever has a hard time bonding with Jett, just break out a book and he will be your best friend. That's about all I have for this week. I hope everyone has a fabulous Christmas! We are all super excited for the holidays now that we have Jett in our lives. I have a feeling Santa will be very good to him this year because he is such a wonderful boy.

Binky B-Gone

Yep! As of Thursday, Jett has had no binky. We have been down to one binky for quite some time now because they kept disappearing one by one, and I refused to buy any more because I figured when the last one could no longer be found we would phase them out completely. Last Thursday we couldn't find the binky all day long. Jett doesn't usually ask for one until we are in the car or it is time for bed, but after his bath I pulled open a drawer and there it was. I quickly hid it and proceeded to get him ready for bed. We then read a few books, sang a few songs, and before I knew it, it was bedtime. Once I put him in his crib and turned off the light, I handed him his lion that plays "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and walked out of his room. To my surprise, he fell right to sleep. As of today, he has only asked for it once. We asked him "Who uses a binky?" Jett's reply was "Babies......you don't need the binky." I can only pray that potty training and sleeping in a big boy bed are as easy. HA!
Thursday night was my mom's birthday. This year was much more enjoyable than last year when we were all stranded at her house in the dark with no heat due to the ice storm! Here is Jett "helping" gramma check out some of her new things.

Saturday we went to my mom's house for a while and Jett entertained himself with her collection of snowmen that play music and dance.

This rocking chair was my step-dad's when he was about Jett's age.

Where's Jett?????

Sunday was unseasonably warm (in the a.m.)so I dressed Jett in a short romper for church. Afterwards Amy and I visited while the kids played together in an empty gravel parking lot beside the building. They had fun throwing the rocks (not at each other)and running around despite the wind.

Geez this wind is strong.

Abby looking adorable as usual!

Within about 2 hours of those pictures, the temperature had seriously dropped about 40 degrees and it was FREEZING!! We came home, changed into much warmer clothes and vegged the rest of the evening. Here are some random pictures of one of Jett's favorite games. He loves flying like an airplane and then crashing down on mommy!

Have a great week!!

Jett meets Santa part II

I was really hoping that this year's experience with Santa would be much more pleasant that last years, but unfortunately, Jett is still terrified of the man in the red suit. On Thursday night Amy and I took the kids to Utica Square for our annual picture with Santa Claus. As you can see from below, Jett is still NOT a big fan.

Poor baby...at least Santa gave him a yummy snickerdoodle for being a good sport.
This week has been pretty much filled with Christmas shopping, so I didn't have many good photo op's. Saturday after a long day of shopping with Amy and Abby, Jett and I headed to my grandma's for a quick visit before heading home to watch the OU game.
My mom dropped by too since Jett would be devastated if he didn't get to see gramma.

Today after church and more shopping with Amy and Abby, Jett and I ran home to pick up Bobby and head out to celebrate our friend's 30th birthday. Jett's buddy Addison was there so they enjoyed some football in the living room of Shanna and Rafy's house. Thank goodness for Nerf! They eventually became more interested in Shanna's Christmas decor.

Jett has continued to battle a runny nose, so other than Christmas shopping our week has been pretty uneventful. His sweet little cheeks and nose are so raw from us constantly wiping his face, and also from him wiping his own nose with the sleeve of his shirt or rubbing his nose on my shoulder or pant leg. In other news, Jett has learned to spell his name. If you ask him to spell his name he will say "J-E-T-T Jett!" It's a good thing we decided to call him by his middle name since it is an easy 4 letter one. Goldsworthy is a different story. He probably won't be spelling that one any time soon. Have a great week!
