On the road again....

After an exhausting,hot,sleepless, and a bit stressful weekend in Oklahoma City a week ago, Amy and I decided to once again attempt yet another road trip with Abby and Jett. This time was much more successful! We had two well rested, happy babies and the trip was an absolute blast. We left Friday morning and headed for Rogers, Arkansas where we did a little outdoor shopping at the Promenade. We then headed to Fayettville where we did a little more shopping and met up with my cousins for dinner. After dinner, we stopped in Springdale to visit my cousin's mom before heading back to Tulsa. It was a long day, and after departing from my cousin's house around 9:00 and making almost all the way out of Tontitown before realizing I had left my purse, heading back to Springdale to retrieve it, leaving once again only to realize that Amy had left her cell phone and going back to retrieve it, I finally arrived home around 1:00am. What more could be expected from two blonde mommies traveling with 2 kiddo's under 2? This is what makes life so fun and exciting, right!?!? Now for the pictures from our trip.

That's about all I have for now, other than mentioning that I have gotten completely obsessed with the Olympics. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall about an hour ago when the US won the gold in the men's freestyle relay. I am sure Bobby and I must have looked like fools hooting and hollering in the living room while jumping up and down as if it was going to make them swim any faster. Good times!

OKC Zoo + Triathlon = our busy weekend

This weekend Jett and I took a road trip to OKC with our friends Amy and Abby. I had a triathlon on Sunday morning at 5:30am (yuck!), so we decided to just drive up on Saturday, take the kids to the zoo, and make a fun weekend out of it! Aside from the hotel not being able to find our reservation, the 103+ degree heat, and neither of the kids sleeping more than 3 or 4 hours Saturday night, we had a great time! We laughed about it on the way home, but I am thinking we might have been so tired that anything seemed funny. Due to the extreme heat and Kattfest (a huge concert with several bands that don't sing, but scream), we didn't stay at the zoo more than a few hours. I borrowed a double stroller from a friend of mine and it was WONDERFUL! Thanks a million Tricia. Here are some pic's!

After the zoo and the really long night, I had to wake up at 5 a.m. for the triathlon. After hardly any sleep and participating in such an event, I did not look any kind of glamorous for a picture. I am usually not funny about primping for pics, but I honestly wouldn't put anyone through the torture of looking at pictures of me tired and sweaty. Here is one funny picture of my leg markings after the tri. I realize it looks like I have been baking in a tanning bed, but I promise I haven't. I have gotten some sun from training outside, but I think Bobby had the flash on a funny mode and it made my legs look nice and leathery.


















Last week I introduced Jett to cucumbers for the first time and he loved them!! I cut them up like sliced pickles and he was in cucumber heaven. Isn't he just the most darling thing you have ever seen gnawing on a cucumber?

With my best girlfriend's BIG 30th birthday right around the corner, I have been trying to come up with something creative, fun, and sentimental to do for her. We have been friends for half of our lives, so any little gift just won't do. I met a girl through a friend of mine that is dabbling in photography, and experimenting with photo shop and paint shop pro. She saw my blog, loved my pictures, and put together several amazing pieces of work for me to display in my home. I decided, that's it!! That is what I will have her do for Amy! First though, I had to get some cute pictures of Abby, but seriously, is that ever a challenge??? NO WAY! On Thursday, Amy and I met up and took the kids to the park for a mini photo shoot. I can't share all of the pictures because I don't want to ruin the surprise, but here are a few of the kiddo's together. Once her birthday is over, I will post what I had done for her, and for me! I am so proud of mine (Thanks, Crystal!)




















Jett has not crawled for over 6 months, but when he saw Abby doing it, he decided to join in! As Jett would say, "Weady, set, one, two, free GO!" The race was on.....

While we were at the park, Jett spotted a bunny. Now, maybe I am crazy, but this did not look like an average, every day, wild bunny running around. This bunny looked like someones pet. It was so soft and fuzzy. It was also not terribly afraid of us approaching it. Kinda made me sad. I hope someone didn't dump it or lose it. If I could have gotten a hold of it, I would have probably brought it home. Although, I am not sure that would be a good idea with Tiffany in the house. She thinks bunnies are for chasing.


















I really don't have that much interesting stuff to ramble about this week. We have pretty much been trying to stay inside. This HOT, 100 plus degree Oklahoma weather is getting a little old, and I usually love hot weather. Poor little Jett has sweat pouring down his face before I ever get him buckled in his car seat.

I have discovered this past week that he is using many more Korean words than I realized. Since I have absolutely no idea what he is saying, I thought when he was pointing to the refrigerator and saying "murr, murr" he was wanting more. So I would give him more juice, water, milk, etc. I found out today that "murr" in Korean is water. Who knew?! Not me. I also learned that "upta" is all gone, and "mogul" is bite. I am sure glad Bobby knows what he is asking for! Oh yes, and I almost forgot. He stayed in the nursery at church today the WHOLE time! I think I was a wreck, but he did great! I am sure he played, talked their ears off, and wore them out wanting to go down the slide over, and over, and over again. He is getting to be such a big boy (sniff, sniff). That's all for now. My little Prince Charming is 20 months!

It seems so wild that Jett is closer to being two now than he is to being 1. Kinda makes me sad, but I think it helps that he is such a comedian. Those of you who have the privilege of being around him know that he is a complete riot! We are laughing all of the time at this boy. He has also become SO independent lately. Here are some examples of how he wants to do things his way, and all my himself.

Tiffany is always close by waiting for something to drop, although Jett usually willingly shares his food with her.


















This boy is a total chatterbox (gee, I wonder where he got that from?!?) and today we had to leave church and sit in the lobby because he wanted to repeat everything the pastor was saying out loud. He also wanted to get down and play peek-a-boo with me behind the seats. That was cute at first, but like his voice, his laugh is pretty loud so when he started cracking himself up, it was time to leave. Afterwards we went with Abby and Amy to the park so I could take some pictures of Abby, but like an airhead, I left the battery on the charger so we are going to have to go back one night this week. Urgh! At least we got to spend some quality time with good friends despite me losing my mind.

Tonight Bobby and I took Jett on a walk around the neighborhood after dinner and played for the first time in his tree house. It has a wavy blue slide and Jett loved it! He kept saying "I wanna do it again daddy". So sweet.....have I mentioned how much we adore this little guy????



















Our poor Tiffany is such a pampered pooch that if the temperature gets about 8o degrees, this is what she does. Finds the nearest sprinkler system to drink from and cool off with.

From rugrat to curtain crawler

Bobby's dad promoted Jett to "curtain crawler" from "rug rat" last week. It's true. This boy has started climbing on everything! He has always been curious and brave, but he has officially learned how to grab things with his monkey toes and hoist himself up on top of things. YIKES!! The other night we were getting ready to go out to dinner and I walked out of the bathroom for literally 30 seconds, and came back to find this......


I guess leaving Jett in a room alone is no longer an option. He has also decided that he loves phones. Cell phones, cordless phones, toy phones, or remote controls will all work for him.

Saturday we met up with our friends Shanna, Rafy, and their nephew Addison at the park to play at the splash pad. The boys were really cute, and Jett was loving the blue raspberry slushy I got him! Probably not the best thing for his little teeth, but he enjoyed it.







This afternoon after church Bobby was working in the yard and Jett decided to "go see flowers". The lilies along the side of our yard are beautiful right now, and Jett loves to smell them. He got a little too close at one point, so you will notice a little orange smudge on his cheek from the dye.





He is he funniest boy these days. He copies every single thing we do and/or say. Sometimes we will just sit around and do things to see him mock us. His little voice and laugh are still my favorite sounds in he entire world. He counts to ten now really good, and I am starting to pick up on a few Korean words that he uses frequently. He amazes me how he can recognize and differentiate sounds. He knows the difference between airplanes and helicopters, and firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances. I have to say my favorite thing for him to say at this moment is "weeeeeeeeeeee-neeeee-ner" (weed eater). He says it just like that too, with the long, drawn out "weeeeeeeee" in the front. He is so precious! Oh yeah, and he started giving Eskimo kisses today and I am loving that too!!!
