Great friends, great fun, and a great run

This weekend Jett, Bobby, and I headed to Oklahoma City for the OKC Memorial Marathon. One of my best girlfriends drove up from Dallas to help cheer me on at the race. I am certain that I have the best family, friends, and running buddies that anyone could ask for! I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but of course, I was running, Bobby was entertaining Jett, and Jamie was traveling around meeting me at different mile markers to hand off water, Gatorade, etc. It was much easier than I anticipated, and I beat my goal time, woo-hoo! Here are a few pic's from right after the marathon (26.2 miles just in case you weren't sure...I have had several people ask).
This is what kept me going! My boys, and my friend:)

I actually trained with 4 other ladies, but unfortunately I didn't get a group picture. Such a shame since we all looked super cute in our matching hot pink running outfits! They got pic's, so I will try to snag them and post them later. Shout out to Caroline who finished right after me, Roxana who finished right behind Caroline, and Shanna and Jillian who ran the half marathon and beat their goal times as well. Yipee! After the race, Bobby and I took Jett over to the Memorial to visit since I have never seen it completed. It is just beautiful. I almost got choked up just remembering back to that horrible day when the building was bombed several years ago. Here are some pictures that I thought turned out ok. The first picture is of the only surviving tree from the bombing, and also he meeting place for the morning prayer before the Marathon.

As you can tell, we had a busy week and weekend, so hopefully next week I will have a better variety of pictures! Oh yes, and for all of my friends who know how anti-bumper sticker I am.....I finally caved.

Yep! I put a sticker on my car. The mother of one of my friends that I trained with got this for me and I love it! I tried to get rid of the reflection from the flash, but it made a weird smudgy look below the window, however, I was able to blur the license plate pretty well. Gotta love photoshop:)

The Boy King??

Last week we traveled to Dallas for a few days to visit family, shop, eat, and visit the King Tut exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. Although there wasn't quite as much as I anticipated, it was a great display and pretty fascinating. I'm not sure how much longer it is going to be there, but I highly recommend going if anyone is interested. At the end of the exhibit there was a gift shop with little hats that looked like the head piece that King Tutankhamen wore. My mom put it on Jett, and I thought it was pretty appropriate since Jett thinks he is the "Boy King", and we treat him as such. I was so frustrated because I got all the way to Dallas and realized my camera battery was dead. Urgh! So, no pictures from this trip, but maybe next time. Earlier this week Jett enjoyed breaking out the new bubble mower that my mom got him for Easter. He has mowed our entire house, and every yard in our culdesac. You might notice on some of the pictures that he mower leaves a stream of bubble liquid along the carpet. I think this is definitely more of an outside toy!

I have to brag on Jett (as if I am not one of those obnoxious mommy's that does that all of the time), but he has been peeing on the potty several times a day now. I am sure he will love me later for blogging about this, but I want to remember these milestones! Since I didn't get many pictures last week, I was sure to have my camera in tow today when we met Shanna and Addison at the park for a play date.
These two had so much fun together, and I really like him interacting with other kids since he isn't around them on a day to day basis. He is really getting social and brave (as well as still being the funniest kid on the planet). He is speaking more and more Korean, which is interesting to me, but it is so cute to hear. Although, he is also picking up a bit of my mother-in-law's broken English accent, but it always makes me laugh. So cute!! Here are the park pic's.

Everyone keep your fingers crossed that we come close to our goal time at the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon next weekend! I am hoping my knees and ankles hold up for the whole race, as they have been giving me problems lately. I hope to report good news next week.

Fun Easter weekend

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter week/weekend. My week started off exciting, as my mom and I went to the Springsteen concert Tuesday night at the BOK Arena. It was an amazing show and I highly recommend a Springsteen concert to any fans out there who have yet to see him in concert. He is full of energy and looks amazing for someone his age (not old, just older than me). Saturday after my grueling 22+ mile run (why do I do this to myself???), Jett and I met up with Amy and Abby to do a little shopping at Utica, grabbed a quick snack at Queenie's, and then headed to meet up with our friends Jen and Haylee. Ahhh...I loved the weather Saturday. I wish it could be that nice every day.

Saturday night Bobby and I dyed Easter eggs with Jett. Of course, Tiffany discovered them on the island while we were at church Sunday morning, and the weather was to icky to hunt and hide the 5 remaining eggs, but we had a great time coloring them.

This was my sweet baby boy looking super cute in his traditional Cottontail Originals romper/knee sock outfit Sunday morning.

This was him sans Easter outfit due to a huge blow out diaper after service. At least it made it through church.

And what do you get a little boy that has everything for Easter???

Yes, ducks of course. My mom and step dad got Jett 2 ducklings. Since we have a dog that chases everything (small animals included), they are residing in Owasso at the moment until we can take them to a friends pond once they get bigger.
Here are some more random pictures from Easter Sunday. Some at home, some from my mom's house, and some at my grandma's house. Whew! We were all exhausted Sunday night, resulting in my late blog post today. Hope everyone has a great week!

Yucky Bugs

Jett and I have both been under the weather this week. To sum up a really long week of runny noses, coughing, etc., I will just say that medicine + good ole' Vicks vapor rub = 1 happy boy today! I am feeling better as well. While we were on he mend indoors, Jett and I decided to whip up a batch of brownies.

My mom, God love her, came out on Wednesday and go us out and about for the first time in days. We took a trip to Babies R Us and then enjoyed Mexican food for dinner. YUM! Since Jett is quite possibly the most spoiled child in the universe, he ended up with new toys out of our shopping trip. I told my mom to put them in his Easter basket, but she insisted that he take at least one of them home. Needless to say, he loved hammering around on his new block toy.

As I was putting laundry away, Jett discovered his old Bumbo seat in the back of the closet. He decided to take it into the bedroom and have a seat in front of the TV on the sofa in front of our bed. I couldn't believe he could still fit in it!

This weekend we got to spend a lot of time with our best buds, Abby and Amy. Saturday we all went shopping, and today we were invited to a Easter celebration at a friends' church. Abby and Jett had a good time sampling all of the sweets on the dessert table and chasing each other around. They also enjoyed checking out the cool fishies (and shaking and knocking the bowl around...poor fishies).

Jett also enjoyed the hula hoop and the inflatable chicken.

After the pre-easter celebration we were out running around and we passed a construction site with several bulldozers, diggers, crane's, etc. Jett gets so excited that Bobby decided to pull over and let him take a look.

That's about all I have for now. Being sick at home doesn't allow for many good photo op's! Although, Jett is super snuggly when he is sick and I do enjoy that part.
