Mr. Personality (& lots of pic's)

Since last week I received several "Why were there only 4 pictures on your blog this week?!?!?", I am making up for it this week. Plus, Bobby bought me this fancy flash for my camera and I have never quite figured it out, so I decided to try it out this week one night after Jett's bath, since that is one of my favorite times of day. There is nothing better than the way he smells after his bath (or actually, OUR bath since he still showers with me, a habit I need to start breaking). You will notice that Jett loves his plane and his collection of rubber duckies. My mom bought him the marathon duck, but I think it was more for me:)

Another night this week, Jett got experience his first rice krispy treat. Needless to say, he loved it! He also enjoyed checking out the candy in my canister's, and playing with his Jack in the Box. I kept trying to show him how to turn the arm, but as you can see, he was more interested in tasting it. I'm not sure what that was all about???? It made for a cute picture though.

Friday night Jett and I had dinner with my mom and grandma at my grandma's house like we always do on Friday's. Jett was being Mr. Personality and turning on his charm for the camera. We spend pretty much the whole evening laughing at him because everything he says and does is funny. He is putting words together now and it sounds so cute. His favorites are "daddy's bike" and "big truck". His speech is so clear, but Friday night we were laughing at him because I said something about a cup and he turned around and said "puc". He always says that one word backwards. Oh well, it makes us laugh. Here are the pictures from Friday night at Nenals (my grandma), and a few from after we got home. Notice Jett looks super tired.

This weekend was pretty uneventful for us, which is a good thing because next week we are off to Arkansas for our family reunion. Bobby worked in the yard all weekend, and Jett and I hung around the house and went for a few jogs. I remember the days when Jett was a baby and it was so easy to put him in the jogger and go. Now I have to get up at 6 in the morning and run until 8, and then finish my last 3 miles with Jett in his jogger later in the day because that is about all he can stand in his jogger. No more naps or sleeping in it for sure! The only reason he will tolerate 3 miles is because he is entertained by he cars passing by, planes flying over us, people mowing their yards, or all of the puppies that bark at us.
He loves being outside though and loves to pick the "flowers" (aka weeds). Here he is today playing with a dandelion.

Jett continues to be extremely clingy to me lately, and starts flipping out if I go around a corner in the house and he can't see me, or if anyone tries to take him from me. I was proud of him yesterday because Jett and I went over to the Riverwalk and he was petting all of the dogs and even let one lady pick him up, it was only for about 4 seconds, but hey, that's progress. One couple that had an art exhibit set up were taking pictures of Jett petting their dog by their booth. They said Jett was the cutest thing with he best smile they had seen all day. Kind of creepy since I had never met the people, but it was nice. Here is one last picture of my sweet little punkin' that I had made a few weeks ago. I have added a picture of me and Bobby when we were around the same age to compare. He really looks more like Bobby only with my hair. I hope everyone has a fabulous week!!

Christian Jett turned 17 months on the 17th!

Ok, so you know how I have to start this post, right? Duh....Bon Jovi in Oklahoma City Tuesday night!!!! After seven months of waiting, the big day was finally here last Tuesday night. As excited as I had been about the concert, I will have to admit that Tuesday morning I woke up with so much anxiety about it. I kept going through the "what if's" in my head. What if we have a wreck? What if we get hit by a drunk driver on the way home? What if something happens to Jett and I am in Oklahoma City? Before I had him, I don't think I ever agonized about stuff like that. Amy and I both were a little nervous because neither one of us have ever left the kids to do something like this before. They were in the capable hands of daddy's and grandma's though, so I am sure we were missing them more than they were missing us. I did call to check on Jett after Chris Daughtry played while we were waiting on Bon Jovi to perform, and Bobby said "He is doing good, he is crying for mommy though." NOT the right thing to say:) I should have coached my hubby on how to not to answer my questions huh? Here are some pictures we took before we left for the concert, which was by far one of the best I have ever been to, and I have been to several.

Amy and I had such an amazing time. It has been so long since we have gone to a concert together. It was long before marriage or babies. Def Leppard to be exact. I think now we are planning to get tickets to Bret Michael's so celebrate Amy turning 30. She is as obsessed with him as I am with Jon Bon Jovi, so it should be fun!!
Thursday the 17th Jett turned 17 months old, sniff sniff. It was a rainy day, but I decided to take Jett outside and let him play in the rain puddles and mud with his shovel. I now understand why my mom used to be so particular about the difference between good clothes, and play clothes. With Jett, anytime we are going to be spending time outside, I definitely bring out the play clothes. The dirtier and muddier (I hope those are real words) he can get, the happier he is. This is what makes having a little boy so much fun!! He continues to melt my heart with his new words. This week's favorites have been stick, shovel, peek-a-boo, shovel, bear, and he has starting showing me where my ears, eyes, nose, toes, and belly are and he can name them all. Here are the pictures from the rainy day (some of them are in my neighbors yard, as it is much flatter than ours).

On Saturday, Jett and I met my mom and some of the girls from her office at Utica Square for a Walk benefiting MS and then had lunch at Borders. It was a lot of fun, and Safari Joe's was there with several animals and a Jupiter Jump. I got some cute pictures of Jett petting the animals and a few of him with his balloon puppy that a clown made for him. I am so mad at myself right now because I accidentally deleted them from my camera....URGH!!!! I do most of the races throughout the summer and fall, so I am sure there will be more photo op's, but these were so cute. Oh well. I hope everyone has a great week!

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles.....

Jett LOVES all types of transportation vehicles. Cars, boats, trains, motorcycles, and planes. Jett will often take my hand and lead me to the kitchen door that leads out into our garage and say "bike, bike, bike" until I open the door and let him look at daddy's motorcycles. He is absolutely obsessed with them. The other night around 2:30 a.m. he woke up asking for the bike, so we had to get up and go out into the garage for a minute so that he could get his bike fix before he would go back to bed. Monday night Bobby decided to see what Jett would do if he actually started the bike. Let me just say, Jett was not a huge fan of the bike when it was turned on. He did finally sit on it with Bobby for about 2 seconds (turned off, of course) so that I could take a quick picture. Here are my biker boys!

and, of course, a mommy and Jett picture

Later that evening Bobby decided he wanted to take Jett to a private airport in Jenks to watch the planes land. Bobby sweet talked one of the employees of the airport into letting is go back where all of the planes are, which is also directly beside the runway, so we were able to stand right next to where they were landing. It was really fun, but the best part was watching Jett get so excited about all of the planes surrounding him. He loved it!! Here are the pictures.

Check out how tall this picture makes me look. I wish!!

We noticed Monday night that his nose was runny, and sure enough, by Tuesday morning Jett and I were both plagued with a nasty cold. It seems like for the past 5 months we have been passing germs around our house like crazy. It makes no sense to me since Jett is never around other kids, and I am never around sick people. Oh well, maybe once he weather gets nicer (if it ever does) this season of sickness will pass.
Saturday Jett and I headed to Owasso to spend some time with my mom and grandma. Jett pushed his mower around my grandma's front yard, and then we taught him to stomp on the bugs (ants) in the driveway.

Jett is so funny these days, and his vocabulary is expanding so much. He will say anything you ask him too for the most part, and he is starting to answer questions really well. For example, if you say "Who's that Jett?" he will tell you who is being pointed at, or if you say "How does a car go", he will say "vroom vroom".
He is kind of starting to be clingy to me again (which I personally love), but we will see how long that lasts. For now, I will take all of the snuggles and kisses I can get from my sweet little baby boy because I know there will come a day when he won't want me to kiss or love on him constantly, especially in public. That's about all for now. I am exhausted and I need to get rested up because only TWO more days until Bon Jovi!!! We have only been waiting for like 7 months for the day to arrive.
Have a great week!

Drama King?

This week has been absolutely crazy for us. We are normally very boring, laid back, uneventful people who go for walks, play on the floor, etc., but this week has been a busy, yet fun one. On top of that, Jett has mastered the technique of pouting to get whatever he wants. Bobby and I have been trying to stick to our guns when it comes to disciplining, but when he does the pathetic pouty thing, it is SO hard to be strong. Tuesday night was the only night last week we didn't have somewhere to be or something to do, so Jett, Tiffany and I played in his room for quite a while after Jett's bath. This was the scene:
Cheeeeeeeese!

Look mommy, I can stand on my head!

You can't catch me Tiffany....just try it.

Tiffany took my car. Give it back! Give it back!

See what I mean about the pathetic little pouty face...it melts my heart, seriously. He isn't even crying in that picture, it's just that face that kills me! I always give in when he does this, and usually give him a cookie or something on top of that. He has me all figured out. Here is one last picture of a much happier Jett with his robe and slippers.

Wednesday Jett and I did some shopping for new spring and summer clothes. He has done a lot of growing lately. He has always been in the 10th or 15th percentile in everything, and he has always worn the smaller size on the tags (example: if clothes are 6-12 months, they were big at 6 months and fit at 12 months) Now, I am buying 18 month clothes and they fit! Maybe he is catching up. He is up to 24 lbs now. WooHoo! I also had to do some major shoe shopping because he has outgrown all of his 3's and he needed some new shoes for his pictures on Saturday, for church, and to play in. I think we got everything taken care of, so he should be set for a while in clothes and shoes. Here is a funny picture of Jett sans footwear on Saturday morning playing in a mud puddle at the end of our culdesac. Fun!! He was covered in mud by the end of it, but that is what Shout is for, right?

Thursday Jett and I got to meet our friends Emily and Caleb for a quick dinner and visit. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the two boys together, but the weather was so nasty and rainy that I totally forgot. Although I read Emily's blog weekly, it was so good to see them and see how much Caleb has grown. Caleb was doing a great job trying to say Jett, but when I pointed to Caleb and asked Jett who that was, he sat there for a second and then replied "baby". Close enough.
Friday night my friend Kim was in town from Rogersville, MO. so Jett and I met up with her at Starbucks for coffee. We love Aunt Kimmie so much and were SO glad to see her!! Afterwards we went to my other friend Liz's house to hang out for a while and didn't get home until around 11:00. Jett was so tired that he fell right to sleep and slept until 8:30! He never does this. He still usually wakes up 2 or 3 times throughout the night. Saturday morning I went out to the car to unload some things, and I sat Jett in the driver's seat. Next thing I knew, he had grabbed my coffee cup and was trying to drink it. This should be the new face for Starbucks...

Saturday afternoon we met Amy and Abby at the mall and had their pictures made. They turned out super cute so I will try to get them on here next weekend.
Today Jett and I headed to Owasso after church to visit my mom and grandma. Jett enjoyed playing outside and picking the "flowers" (weeds).

He also enjoyed eating "cook's and nana's" (Nilla wafers and banana's).

Also new this week is Jett has learned to yell "GO!", when you say "Ready....Set...."
It is really cute. He has also been doing "ssssssss" for snake and will say "pish" for fish. He continues to crack us up with his words. That's all for now, I hope everyone has a great week!!! Only 9 days until Bon Jovi in OKC!!!!
