WARNING: Busy week and lots of pic's

I will keep the text in this post to a minimum, as I have a ton of pictures! This has been a crazy, busy week for us. I can't even remember what we did on Monday, but Tuesday was our second Diaper Dolphins Class, and we actually spent a good deal of time in the water. So much fun! Wednesday was my grandma's birthday, so Jett and I headed to Owasso for dinner, cake, and presents with my family.

Thursday was the BIG Bret Michael's concert that Amy and I have been looking forward too for months. It was so much fun, and much to our surprise, the place was packed and the people were all normal. I think we were both expecting a crowd that resembled the cast from Rock of Love. I took several pictures with my cell phone but they are not clear at all. We were directly in front of the stage and even got to touch his soft hands. Here is a shot of us before the concert and one of Bret.

Friday Amy and I met at the park to let Jett and Abby play and feed the ducks. The kids had so much fun and weren't even afraid of the crazy ducks swarming around us for bread.

Saturday morning was the Tulsa Run. Shanna and I both beat our times from last year, woo hoo! Now if I can keep up the pace for the Route 66 in a few weeks.....

Saturday after the race was Addison's birthday party. Jett had a blast, and I think the adults had as much fun in the gigantic blow up obstacle course as the kids did!

Sunday afternoon Bobby and I took Jett to the pumpkin patch. We waited way to long this year and they were quite picked over. Jett loved getting to ride the pony's. What a big boy! I was shocked that he did it without getting a little scared at first.

Sunday after the pumpkin patch, we met up with Amy, Steve, and Abby for a bonfire and hayride hosted by the church in Collinsville. It was a little chilly, but we had a great time. Jett's favorite part was the hay ride.

Whew, I am ready for a marathon nap now! On a side note, Jett can sing his entire A,B,C's now all by himself, and he has gone #2 in the potty twice! I am in no hurry to throw away diapers because it breaks my heart that he is getting so big, but since he is the one showing interest, I guess we will encourage him. Sniff, Sniff....I hope everyone has a great week!!

Diaper Dolphins and Dallas

This past Tuesday was our first Diaper Dolphin swim class at the Aquatic Center. Amy and I enrolled the kids several months ago, but decided to start in November so that we would have something fun to do with the kids during the cooler months when it is harder to entertain them outdoors. Although the first class was mostly orientation, we did get a little bit of water time and they loved it! Here are some pre-pool pictures at the house before we left. Amy found Abby and Jett adorable swim diapers and matching shirts!

This weekend Bobby took me to Dallas/Plano, TX to do a little late birthday shopping, go out to dinner just the two of us, and visit my aunt and uncle. My mom went too so Jett was extremely happy. What made him equally as happy was the fact that my cousin Kevin was willing to share his train set! Of course, Kevin hasn't played with it in many years, but he was so kind to drag it out of the back of the closet for Jett. This is pretty much what Jett did ALL weekend.

I was SO excited to see my cousin's!! Here are a few pic's that we took for our grandmother. I think this might be the first picture of all the grand kids together!

Jett was also thrilled to death to see the "waterfall" in my aunt and uncle's backyard (it is really one of those hot tubs where the water cascades over the rocks into the big pool, but to Jett it was a waterfall). Every hour or so he would take a break from the train to go play around in the backyard. As you can see from the pictures below, he was fascinated with the life like turtle lawn ornament.

When I was posting the pictures above that were taken outside, I was reminded of how Jett's reddish hair and blue eyes seem to draw so much attention to him. I figured once he was out of the infant stage, people in public wouldn't flock to us anymore like everyone does when they see a new baby. Not so much. Everywhere, and I do mean everywhere, we go, people make a point to walk over and tell us how "pretty" he is and how much they love his hair and eyes. It is so much fun and flattering to see people that we don't even know giving him so much attention.
On top of trains, waterfalls, and tons of attention from everyone, my aunt and uncles neighbors completely deck out their yards for Halloween. Saturday night Bobby and I took Jett for a walk down the street to check out all of the fabulous yards. I didn't get pictures of all of them, as there were way to many, but here is one example. One yard even had music playing that sounded like a thunderstorm, and another one had a strobe light type thing that looked like spiders dropping from webs down the front of the house.

As far as our date night, we did a little shopping at Northpark on Saturday. If you have never been to Northpark, you must go. They have great stores! My mom got Jett some really cute fall/winter clothes at a place called Janie and Jack that I am now obsessed with. Saturday night we left for a while to go to dinner, but since neither one of us were starving, we just walked around The Shops at Legacy (also very cool) and then went back to the house. Either we are getting really old, we are really boring, or we are way too attached to Jett because neither one of us can stay away from him for more than an hour or so. We had a great weekend and I hope everyone else did as well! Oh yes, and I almost forgot! Tonight Jett went #2 on the potty for the first time!! I had just put his pj's and hat on him to go for our nightly walk around the neighborhood to see the moon and stars, when he said "poop in your diaper". I quickly checked his diaper and there was nothing there, so I took it off and sat him on the big potty and he actually went. Now, this is nothing that I am working on or even expect to see again in the near future, but it was pretty funny.

What a difference a week makes

Remember last week's post where I mentioned (and posted pictures of) Jett's busted eye? Well, Monday while at my mother-in-laws house Jett bumped his noggin on the table and got a big goose egg, and then scratched his belly on a metal cage while checking out a bunny at the neighbors house. Poor little guy can't catch a break!! 1 week later though, he is almost completely healed from his wounds. Yipee! He still has a little scratch over his eye, but the scab is gone and I don't think it is going to leave much of a scar, thank goodness. Today was my birthday so and Amy and I planned a little road trip to Natural Falls State Park and the petting zoo in Gentry, Arkansas. We had SO much fun! We travel with two busy toddlers, so road trips for us are always exciting and eventful. We started off by checking out the waterfall at Natural Falls. It was so pretty and relaxing. Jett and Abby were enjoying a game of throw the rocks into the water and watch the big splash when Abby decided it would be fun to throw mommy's keys in the water too. Splash!! It was absolutely hilarious. Luckily I was able to hop off the deck and retrieve them right away. We were also able to corner a nice lady and have her take a group picture of us. Not the best picture in the world by any measure, but the best we could get!

Here are some random pictures I took of the kids while at the park. How cute are these two?

After we left the park, we headed to Gentry to the Safari. I am sure by now everyone realizes how much we love animals. I have always been an animal lover and I am so glad Jett loves them too and isn't afraid of them (except for the pig that kept grunting at us as every time would get close to him). On the way there, Amy looked back and noticed that Abby's diaper looked like maybe it had leaked a little. She has been having a little trouble with runny diapers lately, so we pulled over to check it out. As it turned out, she had a major blow out diaper, and it had run completely out of her diaper, down her legs, and all over her car seat. We pulled into a parking lot and I grabbed Abby and started cleaning her up while Amy cleaned up her car seat. Amy forgot a change of clothes, and I (for once) actually had an extra pair of Jett's pajama's in my diaper bag. It's a good thing they wear about the same size, and a good thing Abby is so stinkin' cute that she looks fabulous in anything!

Here are our two monkey's in my lap checking out the animals in the drive thru part of the zoo. When Jett realized Abby had crawled over into my lap, he started pushing on her and saying "Amy hold it, Amy hold it". Too funny. He really does love her, just not on his mommy's lap:)

What a day! After all of that excitement, we loaded up and headed back to Tulsa for cake and ice cream at my mom's house. Yum! Amy and I were chatting away in the car and suddenly realized it had gotten rather quiet in the back seat of Amy's car. We looked back to find this..... two exhausted kiddo's.

I had such a great birthday, and am so lucky to have great friends and family to share it with! My mom got me an OU running shirt, a cinnamon cider candle (my fave), and EAGLES TICKETS!!!! I can't wait! Bobby bought me a pair of jeans and new shoes, and he is taking me to Dallas next weekend. My grandma bought me a new fur blanket that I have been dying for, my friends from the bank bought me an adorable new track suit, and Amy sent me the most beautiful flowers on Friday. I was actually able to get a picture of Jett with them this morning before our trip.

Thank you everyone who made my birthday this year so great! Now I have to start working on Jett's party.......
