Better late than never.....again!!

Well, it appears that my plan of updating the blog on the weekends has failed. We are so busy that it is usually mid-week before I have time to sit down at the computer. Last weekend was a great one for us because Jett got to meet my cousin's Mitch and Sue for the very first time. They have been so excited about getting to meet him, and couldn't wait to take him shopping for some fun new things. Since he already has TWO closets full of clothes, we went with toys. Jett really scored because he had 2 grandma's, 2 cousin's, and my cousin's friend David, who is like another cousin, shopping for him. Here are some pictures of him enjoying his new walker and activity center.

Also this weekend, Jett and I went to one of our favorite places, Babies R Us, with one of my very best friends, Amy, to help her register for her little bundle of baby girl joy! I am SO excited for her to get here in October (or maybe sooner) so that I can get my hands on a newborn again since my baby is getting so big. I am estimating that he is probably around 18lbs now. We go to the Dr. in a few weeks, so I will be interested to see for sure. Here are some more random pictures that I got of my little angel baby boy with Gramma and Daddy.

The last picture is so funny because he has started making this funny face where his lips are straight across. We call it his "puppet face".
I also have to mention that last night, Bobby washed a whole bag of grapes and left them in the sink while he went outside to work on his bike, and I forgot about them and fell asleep on the couch watching the Tonight Show. I woke up about 2:00am to go to bed, and found grapes all over my floor, and this is what I found in my master bedroom........

HUGE (and busy) Weekend!

We have been SO busy that this is the first opportunity I have had to sit down and update our blog. On Friday, Bobby, Jett, mom, nenal, Tiffany, and I took a road trip to Dallas to visit Aunt Susan and Uncle Terry. If you can picture it now, it was 4 adults, a baby, a large dog and all of our luggage and baby gear crammed into my little mid-sized ML320. Quite the site I am sure. We did have some humor though. Jett pooped his diaper about 2 hours into the trip so I decided to change him on my lap (I mastered that months ago). When I lifted him up, I noticed a nice little hard ball of poop on my lap. Yuck! I removed it with a tissue and tossed it out the window. Poor driver behind us. Tiffany had a great time though because Gramma let her lick her Blizzard cup clean. Bobby threw her in the pool while we were there too and she panicked and acted like she didn't know how to swim. Here are some funny pictures of my baby girl.

My aunt and uncle have 2 dogs, and my cousin Johanna and her roomate have 3 dogs that were all at Terry and Susan's house visiting. I had to take a picture of all of them waiting patiently for doggie balogna.

Saturday was a HUGE day for more than one reason. First of all, my best friend Jamie got married on June 4th in St. John. Her new in-laws threw a fantastic reception at their gorgeous home (seriously, it is about 40,000 square feet, that is 10 of my house)in The Woodlands Saturday evening. It was fun because Bobby and I got dressed up and had somewhat of a "date" night. This was the first time I have ever left Jett (other than work) since the day he was born. I had a hard time with it at first, but I knew that he was getting spoiled by his Gramma, Nenal, and Aunt Susan. And as soon as I saw Jamie and we started drinking Pina Coladas, I was great! Here are some pictures...

Sunday was an exciting day too because it was Bobby's first Father's Day.
I just love watching him talk to Jett, play with him, and interact with him. I just love them both so much. Here are some pictures that I got on Sunday of them together. I think Jett was getting tired from all of the craziness of the weekend.

That sums up our weekend but I have more exciting news. Zaida Ann Walls arrived on Tuesday morning around 3:00 in the morning. Her proud parents are Maegan and Brian Walls. Maegan and I grew up together like sisters, and we are SO excited for her. I will post pictures of that beautiful girl soon....

Jett's 6 Month Pictures

Well, better late than never. We just did Jett's six month pictures this past weekend. We have been so busy that we had to get on the ball or he was going to be seven months old and we wouldn't have 6 month pictures. We went to Woodward Park on Saturday thinking we could get some good shots since it is so beautiful out there. However, we weren't prepared for the heat and humidity. YUCK! We were all sweaty, sticky, and grouchy with frizzy hair before it was over. Here are some of the better ones we got......
By the way, in case you are wondering, his name is embroidered on his romper. I am sure he will appreciate that when he is a teenager:)

We also discovered this past weekend that Jett likes big people food. We ordered a baked potato on Saturday for lunch and of course, Jett kept lunging towards the fork every time I would try to take a bite, so I finally mashed a little bit up and fed it to him. After that, I pretty much had to give up on eating my lunch. Sunday morning, Bobby, Tiffany, Jett, and I all went for a walk. When we got home, I remembered that we had some ripe banana's in the pantry so we decided to see what he would do with it. He has always been a neat eater so he didn't really make a mess with it. Here is a picture.

What's with the tongue?

Well, it looks like Jett is either trying to get some teeth, or he has just discovered that he has a tongue. All day on Saturday he had his tongue sticking out and it was the most hiliarious thing. Bobby finally started grabbing it and he would pull it back in his mouth, and then the next thing we knew, it was back out again. It made for a good photo op though.

I sometimes get so sad when I think about how big Jett is getting so fast. The other night I went to peek in at him before I went to bed and I couldn't resist getting him out of his bed, sitting in his glider, and rocking him for about 30 minutes. Crazy I know, but before long, he will be too big for me to hold in my lap so I want to take advantage of every second. Jett loves his woobies (aka blankets). My friend Neena gave me one after he was born and at about 4 months, he really got attached to it. Needless to say, now we have about 4 back up woobies and last weekend my grandma (Nenal) bought him a giant puppy woobie that he loves to cuddle with.

There have been a few funny things happen in the past week. First off, I am still nursing as much as possible, so I pump at work, store the milk in the freezer in the breakroom, and then before I leave at night, I throw it in my purse until I get home, and then I transfer it into our ice box. Well, last Friday was a crazy day and it wasn't until late Friday night when I was digging for my cell phone in my purse that I realized....there it was......completely thawed out, lukewarm breastmilk. My heart sunk and I started doing the "Do I go ahead and feed it to him" vs the "You have to throw it away or he could get sick" thing in my head. Of course, I threw it out, but man it was hard! That is a lot of work to just throw away! The second funny thing happened on Saturday while we were at the store. We were buying baby food and noticed that Gerber makes freeze dried pineapples, bananas, and strawberries for toddlers. Bobby asked me if it was the same type of strawberries that they put in the Special K that we eat, and I told him it probably was. So he decides that we need to buy some so that we can go home and try it on our cereal. Before we ever got home, we ate almost the whole pack in the car! It was pretty funny. By the way, I never know fruit could get stuck in your teeth, but apparently this type can.
On Sunday, we had SO much fun meeting my friend Amy, her mom Glenda, her cousin Jessica, Aunt Debbie, and little cousin Jaden for dinner at the Riverwalk. It was SO great to spend time with them and we hope to see them again really soon. We also took a few pictures at the house before we left.
