Merry Christmas to all!!!

I hope everyone had a marvelous Christmas, we did! Bobby got a new tool box and a set of new racing leathers, I got a new camcorder and an Ipod shuffle for running, and Jett got more toys and clothes than I can even list. Christmas Eve I got Jett ready for bed and then we read The Night Before Christmas. OK, so we only read the first half before he was bored and trying to rip out the pages, but I tried. Here is a picture of him before bed Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning we woke up and made the rounds to Bobby's parents, and then finally to my mom's house. Jett was a little overwhelmed with all of the presents. Here are some pictures of Santa's Lil Helper on Christmas day.

After loading all of the toys and new gifts into our vehicle after a fun and busy day, we headed home. The whole way there, all I was thinking about was where on earth I was going to put everything. So, I ended up placing some toys in the formal living room, some in our master bedroom, some in the master bathroom (for entertaining Jett while we are getting ready),some in the kitchn, and some in his bedroom. Whew! I was beat! We have had a great time playing with all of Jett's new things, and we are especially enjoying bath time with all of the fun new bathtime toys! Here are some random pictures from this week.

While running the bath water one night last week, Jett found his towel and decided to play peek-a-boo with Tiffany. How cute are these two?!?!?

Tiffany was not forgotten on Christmas either...Gramma made sure that she had her stocking full of fun new squeaky toys. She loves them!

Today I finally had Jett's 1 year pictures made. I have agonized all week about what he was going to wear, and made several phone calls to my mom to get her opinion as well. Finally, I decided that nothing he had was exactly what I had in mind so I went shopping yesterday and bought him a new outfit. It was perfect! The pictures turned out SO good and Jett did really well. I was a little concerned about his behavior, as Saturday afternoon he had a major meltdown at the mall while we were shopping with Amy and Abby. The first incident occured while in Gymboree. I was drinking a frappuccino from Starbucks, and Jett was angry that I wouldn't let him have it. He swatted at my arm, knocking the drink from my hand and spilling it all over the floor...and clothes. I was mortified. We told the nice lady at the register about the mess and headed off to the food court so that Amy could feed Abby. I knew that when Jett saw Abby's bottle he would be upset, so I decided to distract him with ice cream. It worked for a little bit, but once the ice cream was gone he proceeded to throw a HUGE fit, screaming and all. I apologized to Amy and we headed home where Bobby was waiting on us to go eat dinner. I told Bobby that now might be a good time to start implementing rules and punishment for bad behavior (neither one of us are going to be very good at that). We decided that it was probably just his molars bothering him, and we will save the punishing for antoher day. HA! He was back to his usual, happy self today. THANK GOD! Here is one last picture to remind everyone how sweet my baby boy is...even if he has a bad day every once and a while. Have a Happy New Year!!!!

Oh come let us adore me!

While shopping on Friday, my mom found a really cute Christmas shirt that says "Oh come let us adore me", and I thought is was cute, so I am stealing the line as the title of this post. I will keep this short because I am sure next week I will have lots of fun things to share as Christmas is just right around the corner. I am SO excited about it this year because Jett is old enough to enjoy all of his fun presents. I also love making goodies for my girls at work, so today while Jett was napping, I was baking away. I actually started a few things in the oven this morning before Jett's nap so that by the time he went down they would be done and ready to go. While I was mixing and blending, Jett and Tiffany were exploring all of the neat objects in the island drawers. What a pair! I also included a picture of some of the Christmas goodies.

On Saturday, we celebrated Christmas with my aunt, uncle, and cousin from Texas at my grandma's house. We LOVE when they are here and had a fantastic time. Jett particularly liked the box of chocolates on the table, and he enjoyed feeding them to me as well.

That's about all I have time for tonight. I am adding one last picture of a worn out Jett resting on Gramma's shoulder because I think it sums up our busy weekend!
I hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Ice Ice Baby.....

Let me just start this post with an apology to everyone who is upset about me not posting pictures of Jett this past week. With that being said, I would also like to explain that the reason for no post last week is the horriffic ice storm we had. Our power went out last Sunday around noon, so we decided to do some Christmas shopping and go out to eat dinner, hoping that by the time we got home it would be back on, and it was.....for about 5 hours. The next time our power went off, it was out for 4 days. We had no power until late Thursday evening. My mom had taken off work Mon. thru Thurs. because I had to go out of town for work so she and Jett were going to go with me. That didn't happen. Jett and I ended up taking our suitcases and heading off to Owasso for a few days. My mom also did not have power, but she does have a wood burning fireplace so although it was dark, it was warm. We have 2 fireplaces in our home and couldn't use either one of them...URGH!!! Jett got to spend a lot of quality time with Gramma and Nenal so he had a good week overall. Here are some pictures I snapped this week in the dark (with the flash it looks light, but trust me, it wasn't).

Before all of the madness last week, Jett and I were able to squeeze in a few hours with Amy and Abby at their house. I was anxious to see how Jett would react to the Christmas tree so that I could make a final decision about whether or not to have Bobby put ours up. He immediately went for the ornaments (AKA "bah's"), and started pulling them off. By the time we left, there was a huge bare circle around the whole perimeter of her tree. My decision was then made, no tree this year. Jett also loved snuggling with Abby and chasing around Clara, their dog. Notice in one of the pictures below, Steve is having to hold Clara back so that she doesn't snip at Jett's rudolph slippers.

Also last weekend we started and finished our Christmas shopping, and got Jett's hair cut for the first time. He was a perfect little angel throughout the whole thing because he fell asleep. I could't believe he slept through the entire haircut. I was even more shocked that he let our hairstylist pick him up and carry him around the salon. WOW! We are making progress. He was tuckered out by the end of the day and he fell asleep while riding on Bobby's shoulders at the mall. How sweet is he?!?!

That's about all I have time for tonight, as I need to go pack (again) for my trip out of town tomorrow. I am going to post a few more pictures of Jett doing some new tricks. He has learned to clap at himself and say "YAY" when he does something cute, or really anything at all, and he has learned to shake his finger "no,no" at your when he knows he is doing something that he isn't supposed to be doing. My mom taught him this last week while made constant attempts to play with the rocks in her coffee table centerpiece. I also included a picture of Bobby and I at the bank's Christmas Party Saturday night. This is only the second time since Jett has been born that we have dressed up and gone somehere without him. We sure did miss him! It seems so strange not having him with us. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Jett meets Santa.....

Last week, my friend Amy and I decided that it would be a fabulous idea to go out to dinner, do a little shopping, and take Abby and Jett to have their pictures made with Santa. I was a little apprehensive about how Jett would react to the stranger with hair on his face, but knowing that he loves all of the Christmas lights and decorations everywhere, I thought that he might be distracted enough that it wouldn't bother him. WRONG. When we first got there, Jett seemed fascinated with the trees all covered in "bah's" and all of the people showering him with attention. Then he even noticed Santa. He looked at him and even smiled at him from afar. Then we started walking closer until we were standing directly in front of him. Jett was still fine, just looking at him and checking him out. Then it happened.....Santa spoke. He said "Hi Jett". I could feel Jett's legs tighten around my waist as he grabbed a fist full of my shirt and buried his little head into my neck. He still wasn't fussing or crying so I sat him on Santa's lap and backed away quickly. Before I could turn around, his little lips turned outward and his eyes were clenched together. Then 5 seconds later, this is what he looked like.........

Poor guy. I quickly grabbed him and he immediately was fine. He even let me put him down, and he walked around and flirted with all of the ladies that were working in the picture area. He even toddled around and checked things out while Abby was getting her picture made. She, of course, was a perfect little angel. I suspect that next year when she realizes what is going on she might be frightened too.

This week has been a little rough for us because not only have I been super busy at work, but Jett, Bobby, and I have all been under the weather. Jett started off with a yucky cold, which I later caught. Then Bobby contracted some type of nasty stomach virus, which Jett later got after his cold went away. Then Jett and I started feeling better and Bobby got the cold that we had been passing around. So, needless to say, we did not do much this weekend except lay around the house in our PJ's, watch footbal, and play with all of Jett's fun new birthday toys. He is getting so silly. Now that he has perfected the whole walking thing, my mom and I taught him to jump on Friday night. It was SO funny! He also loves for me to read to him. He likes to turn the pages and touch the books with different textures. Every night before bed we rock and read a few books. My favorite one is Are you my mommy? Jett likes it too. Here are some pictures of him the other night at bedtime.

Last night after his bath I put Jett's little camo sweatsuit on him, and as I was brushing his "Jett Dirt mullet"(quote from Bobby), I noticed that if he had his little Billy Bob binky, he would look like a little redneck baby. So I had to go grab it. These pictures are so wrong, but aren't they hilarious?!?

Notice how Jett knows to put the blue circle in the blue round hole in his toy? What a smarty pants! I am off to bed now. Have a great week!

So much to be Thankful for.....

I can't believe that last Thursday was Jett's second Thanksgiving. He is definately what I am most thankful for in my life! It is so hard for me to imagine my life without him in it. I was thinking the other day about how lucky he is to have SO many people that love him and think the whole world revolves around him like they do. Can't hurt his ego later in life either! I am getting a little concerned about his fear of unfamiliar people. He has the whole "stranger danger" thing down pat. For example, I changed Pediatrician's (good decision, love the new one!)and he screamed his head off when the Dr. walked into the office and said "Hi Jett". Jett, who was playing with the wall puzzle and having a great time, dropped to his knees and crawled as fast as he could to me and had a death grip on my shirt while screaming loud enough for everyone in the office to hear. Lovely! It didn't take him long to calm down enough to eventually let the Dr. check him out. He is a whole 21 lbs and 28 inches long. That ranks him in the 10th-20th percentile in everything.
He had no hope of being a large boy with me as a mom and Bobby as a dad. Here is a picture of him at the Dr.'s office (before the Dr. arrived).

Monday it was nice outside, so Jett and I played for a long time in his new wagon. He LOVES it! I think he likes that he can see me pulling him, rather than in the stroller where I am behind him and he can't see me.

Thursday we had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Nenals, and Jett had a great time playing with his new remote control car that our friend Raquel got him for his birthday. After dinner, Jett started acting funny, and wasn't playing and laughing like he normally does, and within a few hours was running a fever. I am not sure what was causing this, but it lasted until Sunday, and he has started having some rattling in his chest when breathing, so I am praying that he doesn't get sick! The Dr. was just praising us for going a whole year with no antibiotics or Dr. visits other than routine check-ups. Here are some pictures of my little turkey in his Gobble Gobble shirt. I also included one of Jett learning to blow kisses....too cute!

This week Amy and I are planning on taking Jett and Abby to visit Santa Clause. I can't wait, but I am hoping that the stranger with the hairy face doesn't freak Jett out! I hope everyone has a great week and I am including a few pictures of Jett in his OU outfit. Go Sooners!!! And Hooray to our Razorbacks who won on Friday night!!!!
